Terms of Service

1. The service

DödPool is an invitation-based platform for organizing private celebrity death pools. It provides tools for pool membership, celebrity inventory, assignments, game administration, result review, external-payment recordkeeping, notifications, and historical records. Public registration is not offered; access begins through a valid invitation.

2. Eligibility and accounts

Players must affirm that they are at least 18 years old and accept the current Terms where the service requires it. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your password and authentication methods, and activity performed through your account. Invitation acceptance is limited to the invited email address and verifies control of that address.

3. Private pools and Commissioners

Pool content is access-restricted to authorized members and administrators. Commissioners administer their own pools, including invitations, membership and external-payment records, celebrity review, game operation, and result workflows. A username may be shown socially, but Commissioners and platform administrators may use real identity where administration, security, or audit work requires it.

4. Game administration

Celebrity selections, assignments, keeper decisions, death review, chronology, results, and other game activity follow the pool configuration and DödPool workflows. Commissioner decisions must follow the applicable rules. DödPool does not promise a particular assignment, outcome, or uninterrupted game schedule.

5. External pool payments

DödPool does not process, collect, hold, transfer, or serve as escrow for pool membership fees, keeper fees, payouts, or other pool money. Payments occur outside DödPool. The service only provides administrative tracking tools and may display Commissioner-provided payment instructions.

DödPool does not guarantee collection, payment, payout, or the accuracy of a Commissioner's external-payment records. Commissioners and pool members are responsible for their external arrangements. DödPool is not a payment processor or financial institution.

6. Celebrity and news information

DödPool may use information and links from third parties, including Wikipedia, Wikidata, and GDELT. Död Feed news is informational. External reporting or a Wikidata death signal may prompt review or a Death Review Hold, but neither verifies a death, establishes chronology, declares a winner, or changes accounting by itself. Commissioners use DödPool's review workflow, and results follow recorded evidence and game rules. DödPool does not guarantee third-party accuracy or availability.

7. Your content and conduct

You are responsible for information you submit, including celebrity submissions, evidence, external-payment references, instructions, and administrative reasons. Do not misuse the service, impersonate others, interfere with security, submit unlawful or harmful material, expose another pool's private information, or use DödPool to facilitate unlawful activity.

8. Safety and Prohibited Conduct

DödPool is a game of chance involving public figures. Participation in DödPool must never be used to encourage, facilitate, coordinate, reward, or otherwise promote harm to any person.

You may not use DödPool in connection with any person whom you personally know, have a close personal or professional relationship with, have direct or privileged access to, or could reasonably influence or harm.

You may not use DödPool to threaten, harass, stalk, locate, contact, intimidate, or encourage harmful conduct toward any person included in a pool.

DödPool may remove a celebrity from a pool, invalidate a submission or assignment, suspend or terminate a pool or account, or take other reasonable protective action if we believe use of the service may create a safety concern or violate these Terms.

Participation in DödPool does not create any right or entitlement to interfere with, influence, accelerate, or otherwise affect the events that determine the outcome of a game.

9. Service and third-party content

DödPool's software, branding, and application-owned content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, articles, data, and websites remain subject to their owners' terms. Outbound links open services with their own practices; DödPool does not control those services.

10. Suspension, termination, and history

DödPool or an authorized pool administrator may suspend or remove access as permitted by product rules, including for security, misconduct, or administrative reasons. Historical game, financial, result, and audit records may remain when integrity and accountability require preservation. Suspending access does not rewrite completed game history.

11. Availability and changes

The service and third-party integrations may be unavailable, delayed, or changed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, DödPool is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. DödPool is not responsible for external payment arrangements or decisions made from third-party information. Material Terms changes will be presented through the application's versioned acceptance process when acceptance is required.
